Renault pays homage to the R5 Turbo with a limited collection of sneakers, dubbed the Racing Shoe5, connected to a “digital twin” NFT
Motor fans, and especially the Renault 5 Turbo, affectionately nicknamed “fat ass”, are in luck. Renault has decided to launch a special (and limited) edition of some Competition shoes that pay homage to the iconic model of the gala brand.
The Serie Racing Shoe5 presents a unique fusion of style and technology, paying homage to the company’s rich history and passionate fans. Includes 960 slippers limited edition, each connected to a “digital twin” NFT in the form of a 3D artwork registered on the blockchain.

This NFT gives access to an exclusive meeting with the designers of Renault in the company’s Research and Development Center and unlock a customizable merch collection.
The series consists of five custom design styleseach inspired by a different iconic R5 turbo model, with a sixth design paying homage to the R5 Turbo 3E in collaboration with the web3 R3NLT community.

These collector’s edition sneakers feature distinctive design elements from the legendary R5 Turbo line. The rear slant of the shoes reflects the chassis of the cars, the interiors are inspired by its upholstery and even the laces evoke the look of seat belts.
Renault has embedded an NFC chip into the shoe’s tongue to further elevate technological innovation. Scanning this chip recovers a second NFT, a “digital passport” containing the unique identity document of the shoeits composition, materials and production history.
Committed to sustainability, the shoes are made with eco-responsible materials, such as leather certified by the LWG (Leather Working Group). Each pair and their corresponding NFTs will be available for 265 euros.
Early access to the Racing Shoe5 collection begins May 15 for fans and members of the R3NLT web3 community. Pre-registered customers will be able to access delivery on May 16, and the sale to the public will begin on May 17 through the Renault website.
