The Nissan Leaf was one of the first cars to try to bring electrification to the masses.. achieving it with greater or lesser success, but setting a good precedent in the matter for the Japanese brand. Even in our country it came to be used as a taxi in Mexico City.
Although the Leaf started on the right foot, as time went by it fell behind and lost prominence worldwide. A little because of the change in preference of the general public towards SUVs and the same, due to a lack of momentum on the part of the brand itself.
However, according to information collected by colleagues from Coachthe end of the current generation is close and it is that Nissan plans to present its replacement in 2026only this time it will transmute into a crossover.
This model would already have been ahead of us with the Nissan Chill-Out studysince this conceptual seems to be the inspiration for the aforementioned electric crossover. If so, it would be built on the CMF-V platform, at the same time that it would equip an electric motor on each axis.
Like the Leaf, the new electric model will be manufactured at the Sutherland, UK plant. This information would have been confirmed by a document where, in addition, it would be anticipated that in 2028 most of Nissan’s offer will be made up of electrified vehicles.
