In total Intel manufacture 32 different processors for all types of machines, from very light laptops to equipment designed for gaming, in several product lines with different energy consumption.

Among all of them stands out the Core i9-13980HX, which is the first laptop processor with 24 computing cores. the most powerful cores can reach a frequency of 5.6 GHz, making it the fastest mobile processor in the world. In multitasking performance, this processor is 49% faster than Intel’s best offering yet.

These processors, and the rest of the family of HX processors, they are intended for gaming rigs and portable workstations, computers that require enormous computing power and, while technically laptops, tend to be much heavier and bulkier than average. Although Intel processors may offer some graphics capability, these computers often also have additional GPUs for increased performance.

To this family of Intel laptops add those of the H, P and U processors, with different electrical consumption (generally a good indicator of power), aimed at lighter and more compact computers. The H range processors are still geared towards high-performance equipment, albeit with less power (a average consumption of 45W instead of 55Wless cores and less cache)

The processors of the P and U family, which will reach the market in the coming months, are those that are oriented towards ultra-light laptops with great autonomy, with consumptions of 28W and 15W, and up to 14 or 10 cores of power, respectively.

All new processors offer memory support DDR5 and DDR4, Wi-Fi 6E, and Thunderbolt 4 ports. Some designs will also feature the Intel Movidius vision processing unit, developed with Microsoft to perform specific calculations on more complex AI tasks, taking the load off the CPU and GPU.

The company expects more than 300 laptop models from companies like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Razer, Republic of Gamers and Samsung use these processors throughout 2023.
