The seventh edition of this solidarity test has ended up delivering a total of 5.5 tons of basic food to the Madrid Food Bank

Suzuki’s social and humanitarian commitment continues to be very high. Many of the citizens of Madrid may remember the help provided by the Japanese manufacturer in the Filomena snowfall in 2021, but what is undoubtedly remembered year after year is for its contribution to the Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid with the already classic celebration of the Suzuki Kilos x Liters. Seven editions have already carried out this consumer test in which the objective is to reduce the approved average cost of the models they propose, thus becoming kilos of food for the Foundation.

Autocasión participated again for another year and did so at the controls of one of its most innovative products: the Vitara Strong Hybrid, of which it consumed 4.1 l/100 km, which in the end was 4.2 due to a time penalty. This allowed us to reduce the approved record by no less than one liter. However, we were somewhat far from the winners as the teammates managed to reduce by no less than a 34.5% spending up to 3.8 liters. Something similar happened with the other great protagonist, the S-Cross MHEV in which the participating journalists reduced consumption by 30.5%, registering a total of 4.1 l/100 km. As every year, the maximum time to cover the 57.1 km of the route was 1:04:59 hours.

This was the star of our test.

In addition, in this seventh edition, the brand urged the participants to get, through their social networks, the greatest number of likes possible during the celebration of the event and, in parallel, a campaign will be launched on Suzuki’s social networks, both cars and motorcycles, with the same result: a like = 1 kilo. Under the hashtag #KilosSuzuki7, kilos of food have been donated to the Banco de Alimentos de Madrid Foundation. Those users who, until Friday, January 20, 2023, appear as followers of the Suzuki account on Instagram and/or Facebook and give like to the post, they donated a kilo of food from Suzuki. Those who also added a comment naming another person added an additional kilo. At the close of the event, an additional 1,540 kilos of food had been collected. In total, the contribution has been completed, amounting to no less than 5.5 tons of food that were delivered yesterday at the Foundation’s own facilities in Tres Cantos. A whole record.
