Although it may not seem like it, AC Cars is one of the longest-running manufacturers in the United Kingdom. Its foundation dates back to 1901 and since then it has been very focused on making sports vehicles. Now they want to recover a classic approach through the AC Cobra GT Roadster, a reinterpretation of the original model from the 60s with all kinds of improvements to adapt to the times. It will be fully unveiled in April and its first units will arrive in 2024although we can already anticipate some data.

After more than three years of development, this example sees the light of day as a small two-seater convertible. Has a 4,225mm length and its wheelbase goes up to 2,570 mm, which is 284 mm more than the AC Cobra Mk. SAW. Although they speak of a redistribution of the masses to achieve a lower center of gravity that will lead to more precise handling. It sits on a new chassis of extruded aluminum spatial structure that manages to maintain its low weight while providing high rigidity.

Although probably the most interesting aspect of the AC Cobra GT Roadster is that it has an old-fashioned V8 engine. They do not give many details on a technical level, but they already anticipate that it has 663 horsepower and that its benefits will be very outstanding. It can be chosen with a six-speed manual gearbox or a ten-speed automatic transmission. In any case, it already promises to do 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds thanks to that contained weight, which will remain below 1,500 kg.

The interior of the AC Cobra GT Roadster too is a nod to the past by being completely handcrafted and having a modern personality with a timeless aesthetic. The analogue elements merge with the digital screens and the ergonomics have been improved. Now it welcomes drivers of all sizes, as the new chassis has also allowed the available space to be improved. This copy will arrive for a price from 285,000 pounds in the United Kingdom, about 321,933 euros at the current exchange rate.
