After the strange qualifying session on Saturday in Miami in which max verstappen was ninth, Fernando Alonso predicted to the media that the pilot of Red Bull I would catch up with him on lap 25.
Those words reverberated in the mind of the Dutchman, who despite not completing a great start, quickly began to climb positions and hunted down the man from Oviedo on lap 14.
‘Mad Max’ and Red Bull were unstoppable in Marina Bay… and after the race Verstappen did not hesitate to throw a ‘dart’ at Alonso.
“You said lap 25”reminded him of ‘1’, to which ’14’ replied with a smile.
Given the silence in the room, Pérez intervened: “What lap did you catch him on?”.
“I think around lap 13 or 14”the current champion replied… that he did not expect what was coming.
“In Monaco it will be different”‘Magic’ warned him. “Yes, it will be different,” Max assumed.
The reality is that both inside and outside Aston Martin, the race in the Principality has been set as the appointment in which the long-awaited 33 can arrive. The why is clear.
