We know that on July 26, the long-awaited new generation of the Mitsubishi L200, one of the most popular midsize pickups on the market, will be unveiled. And after releasing some teasers, the brand shows us a fully camouflaged vehicle undergoing tough durability and quality tests, which incidentally let us see some of its new design lines.

It is worth saying that the model in question is not an ordinary L200, but a version modified by Ralliart, the manufacturer’s sports division, to compete in the Asia Cross Country Rally Championship (AXCR), where Mitsubishi was champion in 2022.
This Group T1 prototype It is based on the latest generation pick-up, which was modified with specific components and parts, such as the suspension, front and rear differentials., brake systems, snorkel, wheels and low reinforcements. However, it uses the redesigned bodywork of the sixth generation, and the same frame inherited from Nissan, and the same improved engine.
Regarding the latter, rumors indicate that it is a modified version of the 4N15 used until now by the brand (2.4 turbodiesel), which would increase the power to about 200 Hp and the torque to about 295 Lb-ft of torque.

Test versions allow you to see something more through their camouflage, such as their front with a rectangular grille, headlights in two levels with LED headlights divided into three sections and a DRL bar. On the side there are wide fenders, a more quadriform cabin and an extremely flat hood.
“Based on the original strength of the new L200, the driving performance, rough-road stability and comfort are even better than the previous model.”
-Hiroshi Masuoka, Mitsubishi Ralliart Team Principal and former Dakar Rally Champion.

The interesting thing is that there are strong rumors that Mitsubishi could commercially launch a Ralliart version based on the competition truck.
