Formula 1 is still pending by Alex Palou. The Barcelona rider is one of the most sought after on the grid, and in recent weeks he hasand has linked him with four teamsbeing that of AlphaTauri the option that has sounded the most strongly.
The interest in the current pilot of Chip Ganassi in the IndyCar grew even more after his stellar performance last Sunday at the Toronto Grand Prix, in which rallied from fifteenth to second with front wing off the hook.
This feat impressed drivers and fans in the United States and, surely, made the Formula 1 paddock take notice.
However, Palou assures that he is calm about his future and he believes that hearing his name on the lips of the leaders of the ‘Great Circus’ is extraordinary news.
“It is true that now we are in the middle of the ‘Silly Season’ and the name appears here, therebut they are just rumours. It’s good to be around, it means we’re doing great“, Palou has said in statements to ‘Motorsport.com’.
However, he is aware that, in the case of landing in Formula 1, he will not be able to count on a competitive car, so he will have to assess whether he is more interested in making the leap or continuing in IndyCar.
“We know that with a top car nobody enters from 0 to 100, especially not us.. But we’ll see if we have options, if not, if it suits us, if it’s better than what we have, if not… but hey, I guess we have to wait and see“, explained Álex Palou.
