FFinally, after several months of waiting -in Brazil it was presented in May-, General Motors presented in our country the restyling of the Chevrolet Equinox, which incorporates important aesthetic changes, more equipment -especially in technology and safety- along with an unprecedented RS version with a sportier aesthetic.
In this regard, Rodrigo Fioco, director of product marketing for GM South America, stated: “Dimensions are paramount when buying a premium SUV, but design is the deciding factor when choosing it. Therefore, this was the main objective of the designers in the development of the new Equinox”.

These are its main features:
The new:
This half-life restyling of the current generation of the C-SUV brings several modifications at an aesthetic level and, as we already mentioned, the incorporation of the RS version with a sporty look. Starting with the front sector, where the changes are most evident, the area of the grille and headlights was almost completely redesigned: the grille is slightly larger and incorporates a bar as part of the frame that extends towards the headlights, dividing them in two. Precisely, the other considerable modification occurs in the optics, with a finer light signature located at the top and the main headlights below. The idea was to emulate the style of the American Blazer, but in a less shocking or disruptive way. Below, the bumper has also been restyled, with simulated air intakes at the ends, which serve as a frame for the fog lights. Finally, at the rear, the internal design of the headlights was also retouched, with a Led light signature quite similar to the one we can find in the new Onix or Tracker. With these modifications, the Equinox now sports a more modern and aggressive image, which stands out even more in the RS, changing the chrome details for others in a gloss black tone as well as the alloy wheels, black emblems and the exclusive color of Ruby Red body.

Inside doors, the changes are also quite subtle but they are enough to give it that “refresh” that the bow’s signature sought to imprint on it: as the main novelty, the incorporation of a new screen for the MyLink multimedia system stands out, now with the Alexa applications and Integrated Spotify. In this way, it will be possible to access the functions of both apps directly from the display, without the need to connect it to an external device with internet. In addition, like other brand products, it has 4G WiFi on board and, of course, all OnStar services. Likewise, the infotainment system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly and will have the possibility of receiving updates remotely together with the MyChevrolet app, which allows access to various functions of the vehicle from a smartphone.

As expected, the entire range incorporates a driving assistance package consisting of frontal collision alert with autonomous emergency braking system, lane keeping system, blind spot alert and rear cross traffic alert.
