Alpine has its new car ready for the WEC, it will present it at Le Mans

Alpine is the sports brand of the Renault Group, and therefore the one that concentrates institutional efforts in the world of motorsport. The historic Renault Formula 1 team has lent its name to Alpine since the 2021 season, and it is this brand that has guided efforts in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) since 2017.

When the new WEC hypercar regulations came into effect three years ago, Alpine remained in competition using a modified old LMP2 prototype, something the regulations temporarily allowed. But this year, the French brand was left without a car to compete.

Yes indeed, Alpine confirmed a long time ago that it will contest the World Endurance Championship from 2024 with a new hypercar, and this car will be officially presented on June 9, just before the hundredth edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans starts, where it will compete in the LMP2 category.

Alpine’s 2024 Hypercar will be unveiled at Le Mans at the new Alpine Paddock center. This model will wear the brand’s blue, white and red colors and was developed using the LMDh (Le Mans Daytona Hypercars) regulation, which allows the use of components from assigned suppliers.

In this case, Alpine has relied on Signatech, its LMP2 team, to work on the new model, and it will use an Oreca chassis as a base, to which it will add a home-developed engine; a propellant that will have all the experience accumulated in Formula 1, says the brand.

Thus, Alpine will compete in the 2024 WEC against BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Glickenhaus, Lamborghini, Peugeot, Porsche, Toyota and Vanwall. Nice season.
