At the European Union Human Rights Short Film Competition held on December 10, World Human Rights Day, the film Şin, which depicts the historical district of Hasankeyf under the flood of the Ilısu Dam in Batman, was awarded the 'best film' award. Directed by Mehmet İsmail Çeçen from Diyarbakır, the film tells the story of villagers carrying the bones of their relatives from the historical Hasankeyf buried in the waters and the cemetery in the district. Producer-director Semra Güzel Korver, journalist Doğan Şentürk, academician Nezih Orhon, actor Songül Öden and critic-actress Emrah Kolukısa were the jury members of the competition, and the film 'Şin', which tells about the latest state of the historical district of Hasankeyf, which was flooded by the dam, was selected among 90 films. it was awarded the best movie award. The film, whose production was undertaken by TÜRSAB BTK President Mehmet Akyıl, Melih Nazlıcan, Cihat Bilen, and legal advisor Mustafa Sevik, told the story of villagers carrying the bones of their relatives from the villages and cemeteries that were destroyed due to the flooding of the Ilısu Dam in Batman's historic Hasankeyf district. The director of the film, Mehmet İsmail Çeçen, said that it is not only historical artifacts that are submerged, but experiences and our culture. Chechen said, “A photographer friend of mine was collecting documents on Hasankeyf. When I talked to him, he said that, as in news clippings, historical artifacts and graves were carried and villages were evacuated. Based on this news, I went to Botan Stream. I met the villagers there and tried to make an effective story with the drama.
