Cadillac V-LMDh is set to debut at Daytona

As we have well told you, Cadillac returns to competition with the powerful V-LMDh whose mission is to continue the legacy of victories and feats of the brand on the tracks. And as a prelude to what will be its Daytona debut later this month, the brand has presented the car in three different designs that pay homage to the colors of the Cadillac V Series.


Cadillac Racing (gold color)


  • He will wear the No. 1
  • Drivers: Sebastien Bourdais, Renger van der Zande and Scott Dixon



Cadillac Whelen Engineering (red)


  • He will wear the No. 31
  • Pilots: Pipo Derani, Alexander Sims and Jack Aitken



Cadillac Racing (blue)


  • He will wear the No. 2
  • Pilots: Earl Bamber, Alex Lynn and Richard Westbrook.



Cadillac has arranged for cars numbers 1 and 31 to participate in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, while the number 2 car does the same in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). The trio will be making their debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 28 and 29.


Let’s remember that this is the third generation of a race car for Cadillac and It has been developed by Cadillac Racing, Cadillac Design and Dallara; among its specifications stands out:


  • Model Code: Project GTP Hypercar
  • Engine: 5.5-liter normally aspirated V8 mated to hybrid system
  • Hybrid system: standard LDMh
  • Total Power: 670 Regulated Hp
  • Transmission: 7-speed sequential box.



Rory Harvey, Cadillac’s global vice president, said:


“Cadillac is ready to compete against the best in North America and the world, including one of the toughest races in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”
