A month after its first images were leaked, the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray already has a presentation date. We are talking about the first electrified version of the supercar, which will be unveiled in the year in which the iconic American model celebrates the 70th anniversary of its creation.
The novelty was announced by the brand itself, through a video in which it not only reveals when the variant will be launched, but also shows us part of its equipment.
Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray: What’s New?
The teaser, just 24 seconds, begins by showing us various details of the exterior of the Corvette E-Ray, to then see it at speed traveling on asphalt roads but also on snow. Finally, and before announcing the release date, you can see how your driver chooses the new “Stealth” driving mode.
As for the bodywork, what we could see in the leaks that occurred a month ago is confirmed: in a large part of its lines it repeats what is seen in the Corvette Z06including its side and wide air intakes, although the front bumper has a different design, in which the color that predominates on the exterior gains prominence.
Regarding the rear of the supercar, the video does not show it. However, from what was leaked a few weeks ago, we understand that it will present a fascia more similar to that of the Corvette Stingray, especially due to the location of its four exhaust outlets, grouped in pairs at the ends of the security element. The rest of the rear sector would be similar to that seen in the Z06, except for its spoiler, typical of the version.
On the handling mode of the new variant, and although the brand did not provide information, It is speculated that “Stealth” allows the Corvette to be driven electrically, which would make it more ecological. but it would take away from the beautiful sound of the V8. Finally, the video ends with the unveiling of the release date of the version.
Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray: More details and release date

The Corvette E-Ray is expected to feature a powertrain comprised of the 6.2L V8 engine that powers the Stingray., and that comes to deliver up to 495 Hp. In any case, there are rumors that the power of the engine in the E-Ray could reach up to 650 Hp.
Secondly, the hybrid variant would include an electric motor on the front axle, making it the first electrified Corvette with all-wheel drive. That’s not all, since, if the information about the “Stealth” mode is confirmed, it would become the first variant of the iconic front-wheel drive model. Finally, and according to what was stated by the brand at the close of the teaser, the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray will launch on January 17.
