According to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM)in 2022, China exported 3,111 million vehicles, which represents a year-on-year increase of 54.4%, becoming the second largest automobile exporter in the world.
Specifically, 2,529 million passenger vehicles (+56.7%) were exported; 582,000 commercial vehicles (+44.9%); and 679,000 electrified vehicles (+120%).
The total production of automobiles in the Asian giant was 27.021 million units, while local sales were 26.864 million units. Undoubtedly, these are overwhelming figures that tell us about China’s leading role in the world.
Furthermore, according to the CAAM total sales of Chinese vehicles will reach 27.6 million units in 2023, an annual increase of 3%; and sales of electrified vehicles will reach 9 million units. An annual increase of 35%.
The top ten Chinese manufacturers in terms of vehicle export volume were SAIC, Chery, Tesla China, Changan, Dongfeng, Geely, Great Wall, JAC, BAIC, and CNHTC.
