The De Tomaso P900 is a hypercar that declares almost 900 hp without resorting to electrical solutions and combines it with a weight of just 900 kg.
Italian automaker De Tomaso, now owned by Chinese company Ideal Team Ventures, has just unveiled its next exotic sports car. Baptized with the name of P900, it is a hypercar that promises almost 900 hp with a very light weight of 900 kg.
The De Tomaso P900 will have its natural habitat in the circuits and with that objective it has been designed. Thus, both the structure and the panels that cover it are made of carbon fiber. De Tomaso maintains that most of the bodywork has been redesigned to be even more aerodynamic than that of the P72, his latest road model. Only the headlights and the glass cockpit, for example, would be identical to this model.

The front wing has larger flaps, the air intake has been tweaked and the front wings are more pronounced. It’s at the rear, however, that the main differences are apparent, from the recessed air intake to the gigantic spoiler and the bracket that attaches it to the open engine cover. The rear wing openings are larger, too, while the taillights have gold ring-like exhaust tips above the massive diffuser.
There are no images of the interior of the P900But we imagine you’ll go for something more spartan, track-focused, with sporty racing seats with harnesses and carbon fiber throughout. All this, as we said before, with the purpose of saving every last extra kilogram.
And in faith that it is achieved, well the De Tomaso P900 declares a scale weight of 900 kilos220 of which come from a naturally aspirated V12 engine from the German engine manufacturer Capricorn.

Capable of going up to 12,300 rpm, the company claims it will produce 888bhp, which will be sent to the rear wheels via an Xtrac sequential gearbox. This engine, with a displacement of 6.2 liters, will not be available until 2024 and will be compatible with the synthetic fuels of the future.
If you can’t wait until 2024, the Italian brand has the option of a V10 engine of Judd origin, with a similar origin to the one that rode the Benetton B197 that participated in Formula 1 in 1997. There is talk of about 700 CV of maximum power for this option.
What would a 21st century De Tomaso Pantera look like?
More details will be given in the first public appearance of the De Tomaso P900 in the summer of 2023. However, we already anticipate that each of the 18 units that will be produced it will cost about 3 million euros.
