The infotainment system consists of an 8” touchscreen with Smartphone Integration and Bluetooth for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a wireless smartphone charger.
Is it a good buy? The only thing we can tell you is that it fulfills everything it promises at first glance, and that we verified first-hand in a thorough test drive.. Let’s know all the details below:
2024 Chevrolet Tracker RS: Design

In the industry, there are models whose design does not match the handling. In most cases, these are cars with a very sporty image, with mechanics that do not live up to expectations. However, sometimes the opposite happens. And one of the best examples was the Chevrolet Tracker, which has always boasted agile dynamic performance, which was contrasted with a serious image. I speak in the past tense, as this changes with the introduction of Tracker RS 2024.
As usually happens in the RS versions of the brand, we have a different aesthetic from the rest of the range. In this case, we find exclusive elements in black such as roof rails, a sports grill, 17″ aluminum wheels, exterior mirrors, and black Chevrolet emblems on the grill. The enthusiastic aesthetic is complemented by the rear spoiler and LED headlamps.
Doors inside, we also have news, since it receives some additional ones such as the leather-wrapped steering wheel and red stitching, vinyl seats and a black dashboard with red details. The result is attractive and honestly, I think that this family SUV suits the Nomex suit very well.
Chevrolet Tracker RS 2024: Handling and motorization

Under the hood, everything stays the same with respect to the rest of the Tracker range. This means that the engine is the well-known 1.2-liter turbo three-cylinder capable of delivering 130 Hp and 140 lb-ft of torque, which belongs to Chevrolet’s famous efficient turbo family.
Personally, I am a big fan of these propellers, since, unlike others with similar characteristics where you can pronounce a tongue twister before feeling the takeoff, here, that does not happen, and that is that from 2,000 rpm the torque is present. Turbo lag is virtually non-existent, making it an agile vehicle not only on highways, but also in big-city traffic.
It has to be said Tracker moves much better than other theoretically more powerful SUVs and from a higher segment. A lot of it has to do with the fact that it’s equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission and not a CVT.
Usually, the gearbox changes at 3,000 rpm, always in search of the best fuel consumption and passenger comfort. However, if a more enthusiastic handling is desired, simply put the lever in the L box to make changes manually through the buttons located on the lever knob.
A nice touch for sporty driving enthusiasts is that it retains redline shifting. Without a doubt, the addition of a few paddles behind the wheel would have done wonders on this model.
Regarding fuel consumption, Chevrolet announces 18 km/l in the mixed cycle. According to our measurements, we obtained 11 km/l which, although they are far from the laboratory figures, in practice they are adequate considering the segment, but above all the good dynamic performance that it boasts. By the way, in an exercise to analyze its behavior at high speeds, we managed to exceed 180 km/l, approaching the maximum 200 km/l marked on the speedometer.
Chevrolet Tracker RS 2024: Equipment

On Tracker’s flowchart, this RS version sits just below the Premier version. Although it is not the most expensive variant, it does have a good list of comfort, safety and connectivity elements that are worth mentioning.
Regarding safety, it has StabiliTrak electronic stability control, electronic traction control (TCS), ABS brakes with EBD and BA and 6 airbags. In addition, it offers a rear view camera, reverse sensors, cruise control, forward collision alert with distance indicator, imminent forward collision assistant and programmable speed alert. It must be remembered that Tracker obtained 5 stars in the Latin NCAP impact tests.
2024 Chevrolet Tracker RS: Conclusion
With a price of $519,900 pesos, Chevrolet Tracker RS 2024 is positioned in our country as an interesting option in the segment. The best thing is that it maintains those qualities that have made it a sales success such as good safety, comfort, as well as dynamic performance and fuel consumption efficiency. All seasoned with a sportier image. In fact, all this makes this model a kind of placebo for those parents who still miss their hatch or sports coupe, but for obvious reasons, they had to migrate to the practicality and versatility of an SUV.
