Fernando Alonso overflowed illusion and happiness after finishing third in the Bahrain Grand Prix and get on the podium in his first race with Aston Martin.
The two-time world champion of Formula 1 to smile and that is until max verstappen he fears that the Asturian could be a firm candidate to fight for victories this season.
In statements to ‘DAZN’ after the race, victim of his effusiveness, Alonso left a curious waver to Pedro de la Rosa after the Aston Martin ambassador’s colleagues told the pilot that he was “very nervous”.
“Pedro, I told you to calm down”pointed out the man from Oviedo, recalling the mythical declarations of Florentino Perezpresident of Real Madrid, in ‘The beach bar’.
Subsequently, De la Rosa responded revealing the message that Fernando had sent him before the race.
“He has never told me to be calm, in fact this morning he sent me a message saying: ‘I’m going for your fastest lap’“, he stated, referring to the fastest lap in Sakhir that he has maintained since 2005 (1’31”447).
“We make a joke of Fernando and he tells us that with three laps to go he goes into the pits just to break my record. He won’t do it, obviously, but he always tells me that he’s going to do it to destroy my record,” the Aston Martin ambassador concluded.
