For the second year in a row, BMW is a partner of the 76th Cannes Film Festival

bmw resumes its role as official partner of the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, after an initial collaboration last year. The Bavarian manufacturer will provide a selection of more than 200 fully electric vehicles, plus new models BMW XM plug-in hybrids for the 76th edition of the festival and for some of its official partners.

This gathering of the global film industry in the south of France will be the perfect setting for the presentation of a new action-packed production from BMW Films, as well as the introduction of the innovative personal watercraft THE ICON. The recently introduced worldwide BMW i7 M70 xDrivethe most powerful and fastest all-electric model in the brand’s entire portfolio, will also go into action for the first time during this event.

“We are pleased to be able to continue our official association with the Cannes Film Festival” said Jens Thiemer, Senior Vice President Customer and BMW Brand. “The festival is committed to becoming more youthful, contemporary and digital; making this partnership the ideal platform for our top of the range BMW products. We are celebrating the premiere of the new BMW Films production in Cannes, the latest presentation in our legendary BMW Films series. Furthermore, with the watercraft called THE ICON and with the BMW i7 M70 xDrive we are creating a compelling mix of luxury, innovation and sustainability.”

Iris Knobloch, President of the Cannes Film Festival, added: “In 2022, BMW joined the Cannes Film Festival as an official automotive partner, providing a fleet of 80 exceptional 100% electric vehicles, in line with the festival’s environmental policy. We are proud and happy to be able to count on the support of BMW, whose relationship with the seventh art is historical, and who will once again accompany all our visitors on various journeys.”
