Through the initiativeBlazer Route: a path with a cause”in which, a 2023 Chevrolet Blazer, traveled more than 3,800 kilometers through 11 cities of the Mexican Republic. General Motors made a donation of $200,000 pesos to charitable institutions through Fondo Unido México.
This route had the participation of 20 specialized media outlets in the automotive industry and Autocosmos closed with a flourish by participating in the last stretch that started from San Luis Potosí, heading to the Ramos Arizpe plant, Coahuila, factory, where the Blazer is built alongside the Equinox.

The dynamic was very simple since, for each kilometer traveled, the Blazer route would make a donation up to accumulating $200,000 pesos. It should be noted that each change of post office took place at a Chevrolet dealer located in the cities visited. Which were: Chetumal, Cancún, Mérida, Ciudad del Carmen, Villahermosa, Veracruz, Puebla, Querétaro, Guadalajara, San Luis Potosí and Ramos Arizpe.
With the donation, Fondo Unido México will work on two projects in Coahuila, one through Súmate al Amor AC to support minors and adolescents with cancer or leukemia who are part of the Association to cover their treatments and medications. And the other project, through Cáritas de Saltillo AC to promote the Casa del Buen Samaritano program, for the benefit of older adults in a situation of social abandonment and poverty from the shelter.

It is worth mentioning that the formal act where the donation was delivered was headed by Alicia del Valle, General Director of the Ramos Arizpe Complex of General Motors. Also present were Teresa Cid, Director of Communication and Public Relations, and Manuel Ávila, Manager of Public Relations and Communication at GMM.

Being the last medium to cover this route, we had the opportunity to take a short tour of the factory in charge of producing the Chevrolet Blazer., same as for the 2023 model it underwent a slight exterior redesign, which was accompanied by a greater technological endowment and a revised tuning. The engine is a 3.6-liter V6 capable of delivering 308 Hp and 270 Lb-ft, while the transmission is a 9-speed automatic.
Just as a reminder, Ramos Arizpe, inaugurated in 1981, It will be the complex in charge of manufacturing the Chevrolet Blazer EV 2024, as well as the Chevrolet Equinox EV 2024. Both models belong to the brand’s new generation of electric vehicles.
