Chirey is just over a year after arriving in Mexico. Vehicles like the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro, as well as the Omoda 5, have been well received by Mexican buyers and that is reflected in the high sales volumes.
The manufacturer seeing this, and in order to build trust, but at the same time get to know more about it, invited us to visit its production plant in Wuhu, China.
Right away we will reveal some interesting data about this plant, which we were able to learn during our visit and we were able to see how the Tiggo 8 and 9 Pro are manufactured.
- It has an area of 830,000 meters square, the construction area is 550,000 square meters.
- It had a total investment of 580 million dollars.
- This plant has mainly two production platforms: the T1X that produces the Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 9 Pro, as well as the new T2X platform.
- It should be noted that this plant is still under construction and is expected to reach a production value of $6.5 billion upon completion.
About the welding shop:
- The welding workshop has an area of 50,000 square meters.
- It can produce four platforms, eight models.
- Annual production 200,000 units, 270 stations.
- It has about 60 robots.
About the assembly workshop:
- The assembly workshop covers an area of 83,000 square meters, it can produce 60 cars per hour and 300 thousand per year.
- In this workshop there are 6 main automated production lines, 5 flexible sub-assembly lines and 3 high-precision inspection lines.
- This allows the production capacity of combustion cars, hybrid, electric vehicles and vehicles from 3 other platforms.
