Helmut Marko responds to the rumors about his retirement: “It is hasty”

In recent days, a series of rumors have appeared around the figure of Marko Helmut, Red Bull adviser and one of the most important men in the team. Some rumors that spoke of the possible withdrawal of him in the nearest future. He has disproved them… but in his own way.

In an interview with the Swiss newspaper ‘Blick’, he said that it is “precipitate” and has detailed that the goal is to become champion again with max verstappen. Something that could already happen in this 2023.

“Talking about my retirement is somewhat hasty, my goal is to win the third title with Max this year,” said Marko, who also spoke about Sebastian Vettel and the possibility that he will be his replacement: “Sebastian and I keep in contact often. He is still in the self-discovery phase at the moment. I don’t think he wants to travel to all the races again and work more with much less pay than before”.

“I can only say that on Wednesday I will be at the Red Bull meeting in Salzburg. There, neither my departure, nor the sale of AlphaTauri are on the table”, Marko has detailed in this interview.

In this talk he has also analyzed the weekend in bakuwhere the new sprint format will be released with two classifications (one for the sprint itself and another for the race that will take place on Friday after the first and only free practice).

Marko has left a pullita to Ferrari, to his boss Fred Vasseur: “Ferrari have been beaten and are below their value so far. However, I do not understand that their team boss, Vasseur, sees everything in a positive light.”
