MINI continues to prepare the way for the landing of the new generation of the Countryman, which, as we know, will be offered with combustion engines and, as an absolute novelty, a 100% electric mechanic.
At the beginning of March we told you that it will be the first MINI model to be produced in Germany, and now we are going to tell you about the range that it will have, once the first units roll off the production line in Leipzig and begin to be sold at the beginning of 2024.
Like a good Countryman, the new electric SUV will maintain its exterior dimensions above 4 meters in length and will have four side doors plus the tailgate. The brand indicates that it will be 4.4 m long, this is 132 mm more than the current second generation, while the height grew almost six centimeters to 1.6 m, offering even more headroom in the cabin.
This third generation will be offered with two engine options.
The Countryman E will be a single-engine, single-wheel drive version, offering 140 kW of power (191 Hp). Countryman SE ALL4Meanwhile, it will be offered with a dual motor (one on each axis), with 230 kW (313 Hp), and four-wheel drive.
Both will be powered by a 64.7 kWh battery, which will be capable of offering a Estimated autonomy of around 450 kilometers. It’s basically the same electrical system that powers the BMW iX1.
MINI has taken it upon itself to inform in advance that it has undergone a rigorous “diet” processwhich includes the removal of all decorative elements on the exterior and interior, and the use of cast light-alloy wheels with up to 70% secondary aluminum.
As part of its sustainability philosophy, all interior surfaces, the steering wheel, roof and floor of the vehicle and the floor mats are made from recycled polyester obtained from PET bottles and carpet scraps.
