What’s going on?
On the first day of February 2008, the first vehicle named P1, the first name of the Roadster, rolled off the production line of the Tesla Motors factory in San Carlos, California.
Skeptics said: it is a Lotus Elise modified with an electric motor, and actually it was, but that day the idea of mass electric mobility on a daily and commercial basis materialized.

The Roadster was not an affordable vehicle for all customers since the first units had a price close to $110,000 dollars and the promise of delivery of 650 vehicles during 2008.

Starman, David Bowie, SpaceX and the Roadster
The first Roadster delivered to Musk was his car for personal use, and in a crazy occurrence by Elon he decided to launch it into space on the maiden voyage of the Falcon Heavy rocket on February 18, 2018 and put it into an elliptical orbit around the sun.

Starman in orbit is listening to David Bowie’s Starman and on the dashboard of the red Roadster there is a Hot Wheels replicating the Roadster
At the wheel is a doll named Starman who is wearing a space suit, also designed by SpaceX and the audio equipment constantly plays the song Starman from the album Space Oddity (1969) by David Bowie.
Tesla today
In fifteen decades the brand has evolved and reinvented itself several times, today it has a range of four models: model 3, ModelY, Model X Y Model S and has revolutionized the world of electric power generation and moving from cars to the homes of its customers.
There have been 3,429,532 Tesla cars produced in the last five years, of which: 1,369,611 units across the range were built in 2022, let’s say that’s a few more than the 650 cars promised in 2008.
