According to a patent of the German brand, the BMW emblem that the cars have on the front of the hood will rise up and spray scented air so that passengers smell it when entering. It’s suggested that BMW could probably sell scent cartridges for this purpose, just like it does with interior fragrances in cars like the 7 Series.

It is unknown if it is a floral fragrance or one that simulates the smell of burning oil. The control system of this device will detect the presence of the owner and the key approaching the car, emitting the aroma to welcome its owner with a pleasant fragrance. In addition, the driver can also control this function from inside the car, through the remote control or even through an application on the mobile phone.

And it is that the smell that we perceive before driving can make our driving behavior one way or another. Remember that according to a study by Dr. Bryan Raudenbush, Professor of Psychology at West Virginia University, the smells we perceive can cause us greater disturbance or relaxation.
