The convertible Land Rover Defender you’d never expect comes from Heritage Customs

The Land Rover Defender is one of the most outstanding SUVs on the current scene and also one of those with the most history behind it. The truth is that it is available with various bodies, from the 90 with three doors to the 130 with five doors and eight seats. What was not contemplated, at least officially, was to make a convertible version of this model. However, it has come true thanks to the creativity of a trainer based in the Netherlands, who has created something very striking.

It’s called Valiance and it’s a proposal from Heritage Customs for those who want to have a Defender in the open air. It uses the model’s three-door body as a base, although a complete transformation has been carried out to change its rigid roof for an apparent canvas top. It has been made by hand and has an electrical system to facilitate its opening and closing. In case there were any doubts, it meets all safety requirements thanks to an FIA-certified roll cage.

The good thing about this copy is that each client can customize it to their liking and choose practically everything. He creation process It starts with the first contact and configuration digitally by the customer. This is followed by the disassembly of the donor Land Rover Defender for the transformation, the roof must be cut and reinforce the body, in addition to changing details such as the hood mechanism. Then comes the time to repaint, upholster and modify everything to suit the buyer. Finally there is a dynamic test before delivery to verify that everything is correct.

In the Valiance of Heritage Customs highlight details such as specific 22-inch wheels (or 20-inch wheels with a more classic look), full leather upholstery, the possibility of integrating sports seats or the Magic Metal package (metal trim at various points). Although the truth is that the possibilities are almost unlimited, the preparer has designed three configurations for those who do not have a prior idea. These are the Côte d’Azur, Solihull Sand and Kokkini Paralia; who have a price of 99,500 euros. We are talking about the price of the conversion, to which the rate of the donor vehicle should be added.
