The sanctions that the FIA has imposed on Red Bull for breaching the spending ceiling. And it is confirmed that they are not only economic sanctions, but also sports ones. Because the famous wind tunnel comes into play and that is a very important factor for all Formula 1 teams. Therefore, it is clear that the team obviously skipped the normal one.
In total there are two very specific measures: an economic fine of seven million euros to be paid in one month and the reduction of the aerodynamic testsThat’s what it can do in the face of 2023, by 10%.
The current constructors’ world champion committed an infraction exceeding the allowed expenses in 2021, in addition to a procedural infraction. That is what Formula 1 has determined.
During the United States Grand Prix, it became known that the FIA had made a “secret offer” the team to reach an agreement. But that offer has finally not been secret. Not even an offer. Because it is a full-fledged penalty. And the team has a month to start complying with it.
The sanction
- Red Bull must pay a financial penalty of USD 7,000,000 to the FIA within 30 days of the ABA enforcement date (article 9.5 of the Financial Regulations.
- RBR receives a Minor Sporting Penalty in the form of a limitation on RBR’s ability to perform aerodynamic tests for a period of 12 months from the date of execution of the ABA.
- RBR bears the costs incurred by the Cost Cap Administration in connection with the preparation of the ABA.
The end of the accusations
Since it became known that Red Bull could have breached the spending ceiling, the teams have not stopped asking for explanations. And finally there is a resolution that forcefully punishes Red Bull.
