Aston Martin has surprised everyone in 2023 by firmly showing that it is the second fastest team in Formula 1 with Fernando Alonso leading the team. Far from being satisfied, the ambition of the British has led them to build a new factory to continue the development of the single-seater, a project that is progressing at a good pace.

With the investment of the equipment owner, Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin wants to be completely separated from any other team. Until now, the British used the Mercedes team headquarters in brackley for the elaboration of their single-seaters, as has been the case of this successful AMR23 that has already achieved four podiums.

The plan is to build a new headquarters where they can start taking steps without the support of another team, a headquarters that would also give them bargaining power with any motorist, despite the current good relationship they have with Mercedes. A plan that is reaching its halfway point.

The construction of the new facilities was divided into three parts. The first, the office area for workers, is practically complete and during this year Aston Martin employees will be able to continue their work there. The second is the most important: the wind tunnel.

The wind tunnel is the best tool that a Formula 1 team has to simulate the performance of the car and it is essential to have an independent one. The British continue to make progress in the construction of a tunnel that is expected to start operating in 2024. Of course, next year’s car will also be produced at the Mercedes headquarters and a part of the 2025 car will probably also be produced.

These installations are being carried out with tools of Last generation to be at the top of Formula 1 and the British have wanted to show the progress of a project that continues to excite.

After the wind tunnel, they would still have the last phase of the factory, the area to host events, which for obvious reasons has been relegated to the final part of the construction.
