The Toyota GR Prius Concept has just been unveiled, a vehicle that could culminate in the sports variant of the fifth generation of the hybrid model. His presentation took place prior to the 100th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to be held next weekend.
The GR Prius Concept was shown at the show that Toyota Gazoo Racing, Mazda (the first Japanese automaker to win at Le Mans) and JNTO (the highest body of motor sports in Japan) held in the city of Le Mans, and which reviews the history of Japanese manufacturers in the mythical endurance competition.
The presentation of the GR Prius Concept in the run-up to the 24 Hours is not accidental, since the hybrid model evolved throughout its life thanks to the technologies developed by Toyota in long-term competitions, a job he has been doing for more than a decade. It is not for nothing that his competition models are called “Hybrid”.
