Although Subaru cars are recognized for their high performance, there is a factor that distinguishes them from their competitors, that all their models are always equipped with an all-wheel drive system.
What’s the matter?
The Subaru brand is on long tablecloths, because it is celebrating 50 years of using its all-wheel drive system in its vehicles. And to do it in a special way, it has just presented in Japan, the Forester XT Edition, which commemorates five decades of using the Symmetrical AWD system.
As a curious fact, the first Subaru to use the aforementioned all-wheel drive system was the Leone Estate in 1972.

What are the distinctive elements of the Subaru Forester XT-Edition?
- It is based on the Sport version of the Subaru Forester.
- It has a Geyser Blue color for the body, which is offered for the first time in Japan and comes from the model sold in North America.
- It has several elements in black: grille, mirror covers, lower fascias, spoiler, cargo rails and more.

- The 18” aluminum wheels are also black.
- Inside the cabin looks completely black.
- The black leather seats have silver accents.

- There are aluminum-colored inserts on the center column.
- Black metallic finishes appear on the console.
- The interior light was updated with LED lights.
- The cargo area has a new water repellent cover, so you can load a snowboard, hiking boots or skis.

The weird thing is that the XT-Edition doesn’t have an infotainment system, instead it has a plastic cover. In terms of safety, it has the ADAS EyeSight assistance package and a rear-view mirror with a digital camera as standard.
Under the hood there are no changes, it remains the 1.8 L four-cylinder block with 175 Hp and 221 Lb-ft of torque. The box is CVT and of course uses the Subaru all-wheel drive system.
The Subaru Forestes XT-Edition is already on sale in Japan with a price tag of $25,419.
