Qualcomm is no stranger to the automotive industry, as much as its forte is smartphones and their processors. But with the rise of EVs, all of those tools are now highly compatible with those architectures, so a “demo” vehicle is a great fit to demonstrate the company’s potential. For the same reason, they created Snapdragon Digital Chassis, which takes its name from the brand’s line of Snapdragon processors.
The model itself It’s kind of a generic crossover with sporty styling. I mean, we have a four-passenger cabin, suicide doors and a steep roof drop. We also have metallic rims, plastic-bulged wheel arches, and split LED lights up front. But of course that what Qualcomm cares least about is the design, but what we can use to interact.

So we quickly go inside to meet a huge 55-inch screen that runs the length of the main dash. This panel can be sectioned according to different functionsincluding the most vital ones such as the car’s instruments, or the most recreational ones, such as the multimedia system or the climate.
The car is prepared for semi-autonomous functions, so every time The peripherals we use to control the car are being reduced to the maximum, whether it’s the pedals or the yoke-cut steering wheel.
Other functions consist of the incorporation of interior cameras, which can recognize passengers and adjust the seating position accordingly, mirrors, steering wheel and your personal preferences for music or climate control. This is not new, but it is not common.

However, what Qualcomm promises a wide range of customization, for example, sectioning acoustic areas, so that each passenger listens what you like or that when you make a call, the noise of the other passengers does not interfere with your audio quality.
It also has a virtual assistant with natural phrasing, biometric recognition to keep the digital purchases you make safe and a “cloud black box” system that allows you to save videos and telemetry of the car at the time of an accident.
All this is operated by a new integrated system (the famous SoC or System-on-a-Chip) called Snapdragon Ride Flexaimed at bringing together functions such as digital instruments, ADAS and autonomous functions in a single hardware.
