It is the first time that the 500 km/h barrier has been broken, and what is most surprising is that this Ford GT can then be used by its owner to go buy the pang.
For decades the main manufacturers have sought to be the one with the fastest car on the planet. Many are the speed records that have been established in recent times in which the figure of 400 km/h has already fallen short. But the 500 km/h barrier was the goal, a difficult one to achieve… until now. Because Ford was not only the first brand that managed to democratize the vehicle, but now it has taken the fastest step to have the fastest car on the planet.

It is a Ford GT named Badd GT and unlike many other models that in the past managed to set a speed record, the Detroit supercar is nothing more than a street car to the point that its owner, Jonhy Bohmer, has it approved to circulate on public roads. Well, this Badd GT has been the first to break that psychological wall of half a thousand km/h at beat it by exactly 0.1. That’s right, this Ford GT has just set the record at 500.1 km/h, becoming the fastest car in the world in its own right, thus surpassing other candidates who had been ensuring for some time that they would achieve it, such as the Bugatti Chiron, the Pagani Huayra, the Rimac Refrigerator or the Hennssey Venom.

In fact, the Ford GT that Johnny Bohmer bought in 2006 had a clear goal: to become one of the fastest cars in the world. Bohmer originally bought it to break the 300 mph (482 km/h) barrier. and after multiple modifications over the years (it’s not clear exactly how much power it delivers), it seems that it has finally managed to push its limits. In fact, as you see in the video, Bohmer and his team recently headed to the Kennedy Space Center facility, Florida, to test a new ECU that they recently installed and given the good results it seemed to be getting, Bohmer himself decided to keep the throttle going for as long as possible. When he finally stopped doing it, his Badd GT had hit a whopping 310.8 mph (500.1 km/h). In fact, and as you can see in the video, a little more and you run out of track to brake…
