With ‘only’ 35 years’, the German has decided to step aside and say goodbye to the ‘Great Circus’ to focus on his family, although he himself affirms that Aston Martin has “contributed” to its withdrawal since he was not motivated with a car that prevented him from “showing what I am capable of”.

“This time at Aston Martin was important and has contributed to my decision. The fact that I’m not currently sitting in a car where I can show what I’m really capable of, also contributed to my withdrawal“, he explained in statements to ‘Der Spiegel’.

If you enjoy doing something, you can stick with it.. But I want to choose the path of detachment, distance myself. There are enough exciting things in life. I’ll manage to open the next door and find my happiness there, “he added, denoting his weariness in the category.

At the moment, the two-time champion is thinking “100%” to finish his journey with Alpine as soon as possible and pack up the exciting project of Aston-Martin. Vettel is being the first to get involved to leave him the best car… but it’s up to the team to correct the problems that have weighed them down in 2022, especially in qualifying.
