How Mick Schumacher has become a point man for Mercedes improvements

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell they got on the podium at the Spanish Grand Prix. Second and third, behind max verstappen. A very important leap in quality for Mercedes… which the team has related to the work that the young man does Mick Schumacher as third pilot.

Mick had tested all these improvements that the team brought to Montmeló previously. AND the data was very good. So much so that later they were confirmed on the track, slipping ahead of the Aston Martin, the Ferrari and the Red Bull of Checo Pérez.

Hamilton made it very clear, praising the son of Michael Schumacher: “We’ve got a great team, with Mick back on the simulator on Friday night, and he did a great job, helping us get on the right track from Saturday.”

Russell also talked about everything Mick had done: “The team have done a great job. Mick and the overnight simulator team were on until well past midnight to help us with the setup for today’s race.”

“We’re moving in the right direction. We just have to make sure that, especially next year, we get our act together because I think as a team we can probably develop faster than anybody else. It’s definitely the best car of last year. and a half. So congratulations to all the people we have at the factory, who continue to work hard and push the car forward,” Russell said.

In the constructors’ classification, Mercedes has advanced one position. He has placed second ahead ofAston Martin(152 points to 134 for the team of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll).

And in the pilots’ world championship they are also close. Alonso maintains third place (99 points) and behind him appears Hamilton (87 points). Still far away is Russell, to 34 of the Asturian pilot in the classification.
