To return to Sebastian Vettel to compete in motorsport? The four-time Formula 1 champion has already made it clear on several occasions that he will not be in that competition, but perhaps in others. Now he has spoken specifically about the rallies, although he asks for patience.
In statements collected by ‘Motorsport’, the German talks about his passion for rallies: “For some reason, I always liked rallying. I know it’s a big challenge, because it’s very different to what we do, say, in classic circuit racing. So I do not know. We’ll see”.
“Obviously I still have a bit of catching up to do, but I really enjoy it,” Vettel says when asked about the possibility of competing in the WRC.
And he affirms that if an opportunity comes his way, he would put it on the table: “You need the time and experiencebut if someone is willing to give me a chance and give me a lot of time, I’ll be happy to study it.”
But that possible project will not be in the short term. Now Vettel wants to enjoy his family: “I look forward to the idea of doing nothing at first, and then seeing what I want. There’s a lot of other things on my head tooother interests and ideas outside of racing”.
“Obviously I’ve been in F1 for such a long time that it’s central to my life. So, it’s going to be hard to say I’m not going to miss it, but how much I’m going to miss it and if I then start thinking about doing something else, we’ll see.” says the four-time champion of the Great Circus.
“A lot of things don’t surprise you anymore. So I’m looking forward to being surprised and, like I said, learning about myself, spending more time with my kids and family, learn together with them…“, Vettel has sentenced.
The German does not want to think about a new challenge at the moment: “I want to give more space to things for which, obviously, I did not have time. And then yes, we’ll see“. “I wish I didn’t have a calendar and then obviously at some point I need to find a lot of things to keep me busy…”, he completed.
