Nissan Arizon EV Concept, this would be the model that aims to make China fall in love

Within the framework of the 2023 Shanghai Motor Show, Nissan presents its new electric SUV proposal to the world: the Arizon EV Concept. This is the step prior to what will be a model specifically oriented to the Chinese market, and created in the Asian nation itself.

Nissan Arizon EV Concept: Key Features

It is clear that the Arizon EV Concept is not very fond of curved and smooth lines. Designed for the CMF EV platform (same as the Renault Megane E-Tech), its exterior is marked by straight and angular lines wherever you look at it, standing out a very robust front, thanks to its large chest. The aforementioned characteristic of the front sector is accompanied by others that give us an idea of what a well-oriented off-road vehicle would be like:

  • Plastic moldings on fenders, fenders and running boards
  • Chrome front fascia guards
  • big punt
  • good size wheels
  • Roof bars

An element that very possibly is not replicated in the production model, but that does not stop attracting attention., lies in the LED optics. At the front, on the sides, they have “fangs” similar to those of the Peugeot 208, while at the back they cover the entire gate, always with a diagonal LED pattern.

As for the interior, the Nissan concept presents a very clean appearance, in which the more rectangular-shaped steering wheel stands out. than circular, and a huge screen for the instrument panel and multimedia system. On the board appear what would be tactile buttons, which are replicated in the floating central torpedo.

Nissan mentions that the Arizon EV Concept features a new virtual assistant (called “Eporo”) and “smart” lighting, which recognizes the occupants and adapts the environment based on their preferences. In addition, the panoramic roof has the ability to be darkened, to attenuate the entrance of light from outside.

On the mechanics of the Arizon EV Concept, Nissan did not release information. However, it is known that the CMF EV platform can support electric drive systems powered by 87 kWh batteries and producing up to 290 kW (389 Hp), just like the Nissan Ariya e-4orce.

For now, the final result of the SUV does not yet have a production or release date. It is worth remembering that Nissan plans to have 27 hybrid and electric models, including 19 100% battery-powered, by 2027.

The rear doors of the concept, suicide type.
