What they intend with this campaign is defend those affected and make the manufacturer bear the cost of repairs, which are quite expensive. The fault in the AdBlue system is present in some vehicles of PSA with diesel engines manufactured from 2015. In Citroën it has been detected in some C3 and C4 units, although recently it has also been seen in some Peugeot models. According to the OCU, the manufacturer knew about the problem and has hidden informationthus incurring in an unfair commercial practice.
What usually happens in affected vehicles is that they show a message on the on-board computer saying that there is an error in the system. In some cases, the car can become completely blocked and an urgent repair is necessary to continue using it. In the workshop, the way to proceed is usually to replace the AdBlue tank, which It can reach around 1,500 euros including labor. The failure has been recognized even by the network of official workshops and the OCU believes that the user should not face this high expense.
Another problem has also arisen that consists of shortages of this component. to some users they do not give them a repair date and their cars can sit idle for weeks, with the resulting inconvenience. That is why the OCU launches this campaign and urges Citroën and Peugeot to recognize that manufacturing problemto replace the Adblue tank of the affected vehicles at no cost to the user and to refund the repair to whoever had already carried it out.
