Caetano Retail | Key figures 2022 and 2023

Possibly, like most, you never ask yourself who owns the dealer of the car you are looking for. It’s there and they sell it to you. There are different companies behind them, from family companies to impressive dealer groups like the one we met yesterday, Caetano Retail.

Their numbers are scary. They represent 15 brands, between Spain and Portugal (Abarth, Alfa Romeo, BMW, BMW Motorrad, Dacia, Fiat, Jeep, KIA, Mercedes, Mini, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Smart and BYD) and have their own brand of occasion, Carplus. With more than 55 points of sale, the group sells more than 27,000 vehicles in Spain and registers 200,000 steps through its workshops, with a turnover of more than 700 million euros.

Caetano Retail is part of the international automotive group Salvador Caetano, present in more than 36 countries and with more than 85,000 vehicles sold in 2022. It was paulo pereiraCountry General Manager at Caetano Retail in Spain, accompanied by Jaime Mingo, financial director, and Ricardo Ruiz de Adana, marketing director of the group in Spain.

Pereira outlined the different business areas that make up the company’s activity. One of his obsessions is the continuous improvement of the customer experience at his dealerships, as they try to turn each visit into a unique opportunity to purchase a vehicle.

Its future projects fall into three large areas:

  • Incorporation of new brands: One of your main objectives is to introduce Chinese brands with which you already work in Portugal.
  • territorial expansion: Among them, the incorporation of the Stellantis group to the Peugeot Caetano Motors dealership in Jerez, the acquisition of a new Nissan dealership in Alcalá de Henares, and the landing of the firm in the Canary Islands with Renault and Dacia.
  • digitization: Caetano Retail has launched the Caetano Mobility subscription mobility platform and has integrated the rental car comparator pepecar.com in its structure.

According to Paulo Pereira, part of the company’s success is due to “representing the world’s leading automobile manufacturers. Together with our focus on customer service excellence, it allows us to stay ahead in a sector as competitive as the automotive sector”, he concluded.
