“Marc Márquez has won eight titles and you have to respect him”: that’s how forceful it shows Marco Lucchinelli when asked about the delicate situation that the man from Cervera is going through with Repsol Honda.
The motorcycle that raised him to motorcycling heaven is the one that today punishes him at every turn and keeps him from winning after having undergone surgery four times in the last three years.
In an interview on ‘GPOne’, the 500cc world champion in the 1981 season stated that Márquez is getting the most out of a Honda with which the rest “would be in the hospital”.
“He is a rider with balls, while with his current bike the other pilots -from Honda- are in the hospital. Perhaps as a rider I also exaggerate in always going to the limit, but I think that a good part of that is the fault of the bike”, he explained.
Therefore, the ‘Crazy Horse’ (Crazy Horse) advises him to leave Honda: “He will win again, but have to change motorcycle. It’s like me when I switched from Honda to Cagiva.”
“Now Márquez is demoralized, but he knows that he is still competitive. He won last year with a sprained arm, what are we talking about?“, has added.
“I’ve always liked him, even when Valentino Rossi was there. He never complains about his problems, or anything. Marc Márquez will win again, if he changes motorcycle he will win again“, ditch Lucchinelli, confessed fan of the eighth champion.
