A former MotoGP rider believes that Márquez has become “aware” of the risks… and he is no longer what he was before

The return of Marc Márquez No date. He is still recovering from his injury in Portimão and he has already pointed out that he will not risk it. He will wait until he is fully cured before riding the Honda again. Otherwise, the consequences would have been dire.

Marco Melandriwho was a MotoGP rider, has analyzed the moment of the man from Cervera and assures that he understands his decision: “I read and listen to many people who do not understand why Marc Márquez has not raced in Jerez. I had an operation more or less similar…”.

“It’s been seven weeks and his thumb still hurts. It seems that generally after four weeks you have to be ready to run, especially if the problem is with a small bone. Instead, one should consider that even a hand injury is serious and needs to heal well“, he comments.

And he ensures that these precautions are logical in a pilot who is no longer so young: “Marc he becomes aware of the risks as he gets older. And the choice of him fits, it is logical.

“I would have been surprised to see him run this weekend in Jerez. After seven weeks, it must be hard for him to ride a motorcycle, maybe he hasn’t touched a motorcycle yet,” Melandri said.
