Sebastian Vettelfour times Formula 1 champion with Red Bull in a row. Max Verstappen, twice champion of the competition with this team also consecutively. Is there a debate? Can both drivers be compared? From the team itself, the engineer Guillaume Rochelin has talked about it.
In ‘Eurosport’, Rocquelin, known in F1 as ‘Rocky’ has compared both drivers and has opted for Vettel. He claims that German is “more complete” than the current two-time champion.
“I think Sebastian was a more complete driver than Max when he came to us. Professionally, technically… asked a lot of questionshe took a lot of notes and when he came to us he was very thorough,” he explains.
Do you think Vettel was “more prepared” than Verstappen: “I was more prepared technically and mentally. I think Max maybe has more natural talent, and that’s what he trusted more, but Sebastian was the most complete.”
Regarding Verstappen, he highlights his leadership: “Max has always been a boss. He has enormous self-confidence, he knows what he wants and he is very direct. But I will be honest, Max is technically weak compared to other drivers we have worked with. I think he still has to make a lot of progress.”
“He is a leader because of his attitude and his results, but I think he can improve from a technical point of view and in the way to develop the car”has sentenced ‘Rocky’.
Verstappen is two world titles behind Vettel. It seems like a world, but considering the recent records of him it seems that everything is possible for him. The future will determine who of the two has achieved more success behind the wheel of Red Bull.
His father, Joseph Verstappen, has predicted a good future for him. He stated, once Max became champion, he projected a few years “funny” for them, making it clear that they are favorites in the immediate future.
