Acura takes the podium at the 101st edition of Pikes Peak

Colorado’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is one of the oldest racing competitions in the United States.


Since 1916, drivers from around the world, in a wide variety of vehicles and across multiple motorsport disciplines, have competed against the clock on the challenging mountain course, which begins at 2,862 meters and climbs to the top at 4,302 meters.


For its 101st edition, Acura earned one podium finish and four top-10 positions.


In his competition debut, the The 2024 Integra Type S driven by driver Loni Unser finished ninth in the Show category with a time of 11:34.709. The Unser family is part of the monarchy of American motorsports, with nine Indy 500 victories and 26 Pikes Peak victories.



Acura engineer Paul Hubers returned for a second year to the mountain aboard a Honda of America Racing Team (HART)-built Integra 1.5T. His stock Integra completed the 19.9km course in 12:08.535, earning a tenth place finish in the Show category.



Another Acura engineer and Pikes Peak veteran, Jordan Guitar, drove his TLX Type S built by HART in an impressive time of 11:12.164, obtaining a seventh place in the Exhibition category.



For his part, the Acura NSX Type S Active Aero Study better known as Yamabiko was driven by James Robinson, Honda engineer and experienced Pikes Peak racer, and while he didn’t break his record with the NSX (10:01.913) in the hybrid category in 2022, he did manage 10:11.950 to place third in the Time Attack 1 category.
