He Red Bull ring will witness for the second time this season the staging of the new format for this year of the grand prix with sprint race. The Austrian Grand Prix has been chosen to carry out an organization that does not give a I only breathe all weekend.
First of all, and as is usually done, the free practice session will take place on Friday morning but there will only be one and not three, as usual. Saturday will begin with this year’s novelty, the one known as sprint shootout or what is the same, a classification test to decide the starting positions of the sprint race which will be held hours later, throughout Saturday afternoon.
It must be remembered that the scoring system in the sprint race has changed compared to last year, now more points are distributed. The first will add 8 points. The second, 7; the third, 6; the fourth, 5; the fifth, 4; the sixth, 3; the seventh, 2; and the eighth, 1.
The Sunday and last day of the grand prix is reserved, and here there are no changes, for the road. Of course, the starting grid will be organized taking into account the results recorded in Friday’s qualifying and completely ignoring everything that happened on Saturday.
With this new organization, implemented this season, and the rain forecast All weekend long, it seems looming a grand prize with unusual conditions.
