Many analysts point out that when the SUV fever ends, traditional cars will be back in style. Today, this format is still diminished and although it still has not recovered its past glories, if we have to, throughout 2023 our market will be enriched with the arrival of some very interesting specimens. That is why, on this occasion, we show a list of all the sedans, hatchbacks and coupes that will arrive in Mexico this year:
Alfa Romeo Giulia
The most notable change on the exterior is the new optical assembly, which debuts the 3+3 design with adaptive LED matrix technology, for its part, the skulls are made of smoked glass with a glossy black finish. A new 12.3-inch TFT screen is also incorporated. The engines are the same.
bmw i7
It is the electric version of the flagship of the Bavarian house, it has a motor on each axis, which makes it an all-wheel drive. Power is 544 hp with 549 lb-ft, while the battery is 101.7 kWh. With this, the autonomy is 625 kilometers per charge. All the luxury possible in a zero emissions.

Made in Mexico. This high-performance compact coupe is powered by the S58 engine, which is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six that delivers 460 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque between 2,650 and 5,870 rpm. The transmission is an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds (4.3 seconds with a manual gearbox) and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h, which can be increased to 285 km/h with the package M Driver.
BYD Han EV
It will be the first to arrive in Mexico, a four-door Premium sedan, all-wheel drive, powered by the capacity of two synchronous motors, one installed on each axis; the one in the front offers 163 kW (219 hp) and a torque of 330 Nm, while the one in the rear delivers 200 kW (268 hp) and a torque of 258 lb-ft. The autonomy is up to 602 kilometers.
Chevrolet Aveo
It will arrive during the first half of the year in a hatchback body and then do the same with the sedan. The brand announced that it will be much safer by having 6 airbags and stability control. Once again it will arrive imported from China where it will have its twin under the Wuling brand.

Known elsewhere as Monza, this car underwent a slight cosmetic update that became more noticeable at the front. There are also improvements in security and connectivity. Although there are MHEV engines in China, in Mexico the engine offer should remain unchanged.
Chevrolet Corvette Z06
The 2023 model mounts a new naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8, the most powerful GM has ever made for a production vehicle that delivers 680 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The fenders are much wider, the air intakes are bigger to increase the ability on the track. In addition, a more aggressive aerodynamic package has been designed to improve cornering grip and high-speed stability. A pimp for sure.
Ford Mustang
The Mustang will have two powertrains, starting with a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-four with 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. In the case of the GT version, a V8 5.0L Coyote is used that will have a power of 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, this is 30 HP and 5 pound-feet of torque more than the outgoing model.

This eleventh generation has a more conservative look than its predecessor. The biggest novelty is under the hood. While we have the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 192 hp and 192 lb-ft parented to a CVT-type automatic transmission, Honda says the engine has been “upgraded with additional refinement and improved emissions performance.” The 2.0-liter turbo engine will no longer be present.
Hyundai Grand i10 and Grand i10 Sedan
Made in India, this small car receives a slight cosmetic update, which is accompanied by improvements in connectivity and safety. In the mechanical part everything remains the same. Due to the good acceptance it has in our country, it should be presented in the first semester of the year.
Mercedes-Benz A-Class
Being a generational half-life restyling, there is no change in the mechanical base or dimensions. The aesthetic changes are subtle, and focus on the new headlights inspired by the new AMG SL, which can be LED or matrix. A central 10.25″ screen will now be offered as standard for the MBUX. The engines are now MHEV.
Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class
The model debuts a new front bumper and a redesigned grill, with the traditional star pattern, which gives it a sharper look. At the rear, LED headlights are also added and a sportier defense is added, which even has a diffuser. The same engines are maintained.
Mercedes-AMG C 63 SE Performance
It uses technology that it calls E Performance. Basically, it is a high-performance hybrid car that has an electric motor, as well as a turbocharged four-cylinder. The joint power is 680 Hp and 752 Lb-ft. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed limited to 250 km/h, or an optional 280 km/h.
MG5
The MG5 is really a car from Roewe, its sister subsidiary built on the remains of what was once Rover. In China, the update of the sedan has just been presented under the identity of Roewe i. Aesthetically it looks much more current and elegant, while inside you can breathe a more technological and higher quality air. The 1.5-liter atmospheric engine remains, but a turbocharged version with 145 horsepower is added. We will see what news comes to Mexico.

The Nissan Versa 2023 is produced in Mexico at the Aguascalientes 1 manufacturing plant. Aesthetically it has a new grill design, headlights, fenders, wheels and a new logo. In general, it takes elements and seen in the Altima 2023. In addition, the new SR grade stands out with elements of a sporty character both outside and inside. It also gains more safety equipment, although it maintains the same 1.6-liter engine.

Despite being a mid-life renovation, it comes with significant improvements in sections such as design, safety, technology, and comfort. It is equipped with ProPILOT Assist, which is now more intuitive. The Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite also stands out. This car is imported into Mexico from the company’s manufacturing plant located in Smyrna, Tennessee, United States.

Godzilla is renewed with light, but effective cosmetic changes. On the GT-R Nismo version, we get a new 10% larger rear wing with gooseneck-style mounts. Under the hood lies the familiar 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that develops 565 hp and 467 lb-ft of torque. For the GT-R Nismo, an improved version of the VR38DETT engine is used that develops 600 HP and 481 lb-ft of torque.
Renault Kwid E-TECH
This is the zero emission version of the Kwid, which uses an electric motor with a power equivalent to 65 Hp and 83 lb-ft. It is powered by a 26.8 kWh battery pack, which is located where we would normally find the fuel tank. There are other modifications made to the platform, to the point that the Franco-Japanese alliance calls it CMF-AEV. It has a maximum autonomy of 298 kilometers.
Toyota Corolla
In the aesthetic section it is necessary to pay close attention to find the changes. the biggest novelty is that the 1.8-liter disappears, and from now on all versions (BASE, LE, XLE, SE) are powered by the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which was previously exclusive to the top-of-the-range version. At 138 hp, the Corolla Hybrid is now more powerful. In fact, the gain is 17 Hp compared to the previous model.

Although it retains its classic single-stroke silhouette, the new Prius can for the first time be considered an attractive and well-proportioned car. The new generation is more powerful and efficient thanks to the fact that it is powered by a 2.0-liter engine that, together with an electric drive, together deliver 194 horsepower. The box is CVT.
volkswagen polo
The Polo 2023 will be imported from Brazil, thus joining the Nivus. We believe that it will arrive with a 1.6-liter aspirated engine, while at the top we will find a 1.0-liter turbo, in a strategy similar to that seen in Virtus. Unfortunately, it is almost certain that the Polo GTS with 150 Hp will not reach our market.
