A team of 120 artisans, including electric vehicle designers and technicians from the Lunaz company, have worked for thousands of hours to shape the wedding gift that David Beckham had commissioned for his son.
The electric car has been built entirely at the headquarters of Lunaz in Silverstone (England).
Based on a Jaguar XK140 Open Two Seater, Lunaz engineers have been shaping all David Beckham’s requests. The ex-football player has requested that the car be painted in a light blue (each Lunaz customer designs their paint exclusively and gives it a unique name, but in this case the name has not been made public).
For the interior, Beckham has requested a light beige tone. Like all Lunaz classics, modern technology is discreetly hidden: dials and switches faithfully reflect Jaguar’s original design, but with subtle updates to provide battery level information and to operate contemporary functions.
Lunaz, Beckham’s electric car brand
Lunaz is an English company specializing in retrofit; that is, it recycles and converts combustion engine vehicles into electric vehicles through the installation of its own electric propulsion system.
In June 2021, Beckham announced that he would invest in Lunaz. Since then, the company has expanded rapidly, increasing its workforce by 200% and will soon establish the UK’s largest electrification and remanufacturing facility alongside its current headquarters in Silverstone Technology Park.
Lunaz’s next project is to go into full production of recycled electric vehicles for industrial applications. In fact, the company recently introduced the world’s first fully electrified, recycled garbage truck.
