The Autocosmos Awards ended last December. This occasion was the third edition that was held and there was a lot of participation.

Excelling over 14 competitors among which were considered electric, hybrid and mild-hybrid. The BMW iX wins the Green Car of the Year category with a voting percentage of 11.68. It beat the Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric by next to nothing, registering 11.45% and JAC E10X with 10.65%.

Green car car: BMW iX

the bmw ix is the creative electric mobility proposal of the Bavarian firm. It is based on the Vision iNext concept, an electric SUV that surprised everyone back in 2018.

The BMW iX measures almost the same as an X5, but beware they share nothing. It has a huge lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 111.5 kWh (xDrive50 version) and with it it can travel up to 630 km.

It uses two electric motors, one on each axis, it is all-wheel drive. Total power is 523 Hp and 564 Lb-ft of torque. With these numbers it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, this is surprising because it is a family SUV of almost 5 meters that weighs 2.5 tons
