Perhaps for many, this tuning is an old-fashioned and irrelevant topic. Well, I think it depends from where you look at it because fortunately There are still brands that “tune” from the factory, there are others that are providers of tuning and in another very specific niche, there are those who started doing it for fun and reached a world-class level and quality. Then there are the events of great relevance such as the SEMA Show (Las Vegas), Water Fest (New Jersey), the same GTI Treffen (soon in Wolfsburg) or the Tuning World Bodensee (Friedrichshafen, Germany); so, by far, I doubt it’s a “irrelevant” topic.
And precisely from Bavarian latitudes, Manhart presents us with the latest update for the increasingly rare BMW M3 Touring.. It is a special package called MH3 650 Touring presented during the TWB that, after a slight revision, is ready to market.
Like all Manhart kits, it’s visually stunning, and if it’s a silhouette like the M3 Touring, just imagine the results. He has gained sizes with the new carbon components in addition to those already included in the M Carbon package: grill, air intakes and scoop for air intake. Manhart just added a few of his special touches:
- Running boards and additions for fenders
- Progressive Yido Performance wheels, 20″ in front and 21″ in back
- H&R coilover kit
- Manhart 4” quad exhausts
- Interior details include a custom LED lighting job on the roof, reminiscent of some Rolls-Royce models.
Mechanically speaking, it goes without saying that Mahart “turned the key” on the bmw M3 Touring. With a couple of magical passes, 3.0-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine now makes 641 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, figure with which the “you for you” is put with the MH3 GTR, the most powerful model tuned by the specialist:
- New auxiliary ECU signed by MHtronic
- Remus exhaust system with HJS couplings and pipes
