August is close, and with it would come the first electrified Cadillac Escalade in history called Escalade IQ, an SUV that aims to be the new jewel in the brand’s crown and no wonder, since we are talking about a product that has historically been the brand’s flagship, showing the logical step: electrification.
On the eve of its arrival, Cadillac has shown a bit of the Escalade IQ through a “short video” in which it shows off the final design of the front part which, as expected, It looks very “techno” and very similar to what Lyriq and Celestiq have already shown:
- LED applications in headlamps and vertical DRLs
- illuminated front logo
- Illuminated accents and trim on main grille
- The final height would be equal to that of the combustion model.
The absence of light in the lowest area of the fascia is striking, but with the power that they will surely handle those LEDs or DRL, surely you will not need it, thus preserving the sober, minimalist and futuristic style.
Obviously, there is no official technical data, although given its architecture, we could make many assumptions regarding performance figures, but for what? I better tell you what is already a fact:
- Escalade IQ is built on and built on GM’s Ultium electric platform.
- It will be assembled at Factory ZERO, Detroit-Hammtracmck (the home of the GMC Hummer).
- It will be Cadillac’s first all-electric large SUV
There is no official documentation of the passenger compartment either, but based on the fact that Celestiq uses a large screen that covers a large part of the board, Escalade IQ could enjoy a noticeable evolution in this regard; but we will have to wait until August 9, when Cadillac Escalade IQ makes its official appearance in New York.
