Carlos Sainz is confident of a good result in Hungary: “There is room for improvement”

Carlos Sainz has had a difficult Friday in the Hungarian Grand Prix. In the first free practice he suffered a slight accident for which he needed the help of the commissioners to get back on track and in the afternoon he could only take tenth in a session led by his teammate charles leclerc.

Regarding the accident, the man from Madrid downplayed it: “I found the limit doing ‘aquaplaning’it was complicated, but today it was about seeing what the new tire assignment was like.”

A format, which, like Lewis Hamilton and other drivers, he did not quite like: “You couldn’t do as many laps as you wanted because you had to save some compounds, so for the fans it was not so much fun because we didn’t push too much”.

In Free Practice 2, despite the tenth position, the sensations were better for the ’55’: “I had traffic in the short run with cars more loaded with gasoline, while the sensations have been better in the long runalthough we haven’t done many laps”.

Finally, the session was led by Charles Leclerc, but many of the favorites hid and in the simulations equality is maximum, something Sainz affirms: “The differences will be very smallso I think it’s going to be a tough weekend for everyone, especially on a tricky track like this.”

“The expectations are to be on the front lines, that is the goal. McLaren and Aston Martin are fighting at the same time, so we must put everything in because we have work ahead of us,” he added.

Despite the fact that it has been a difficult day due to results, Carlos Sainz has been optimistic since “there is room for improvement tomorrow“.
