What’s going on?
The Tavascan concept car was unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, and brand executives – led by CUPRA CEO Wayne Griffiths – said: The stock Tavascan will be very similar to this concept car.

CUPRA Tavascan Concept (2019)
Based on the MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group, the first electric SUV coupé of the brand will be available with two power levels: 286 HP (210 kW) and 340 HP (250 kW); the most powerful version has two motors, one on each axis, which give it all-wheel drive. CUPRA Tavascan VZ is capable of accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h in 2.4 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, according to official data.

Today that we know the production model, we realize that the brand’s executives were telling the truth.
Tavascan has the DCC Sport Adaptive Chassis Control technology, sports suspension and progressive steering. These elements, added to the high-performance tires mounted on 21-inch alloy wheels.
The second electric model of CUPRA offers a maximum range of around 550 kilometers with a 77 kWh net capacity battery. In just 7 minutes you can add an additional 100 km. And when the battery is down to 10%, it is possible to increase the charge up to 80% in just under half an hour using a charging point of at least 135 kW.

The infotainment system consists of a 15-inch screen -the largest available to date in a CUPRA- and a recently developed human-machine interface (HMI). It is also the first model of the brand to incorporate a Sennheiser signature audio system.
Made in China

Designed and developed in Barcelona, CUPRA Tavascan will be manufactured at the Volkswagen Group plant in Anhui, China and will be launched on the European market in 2024, with a sales goal of more than 70,000 units per year.
We have no news about the date of arrival in Mexico, but we estimate that it will be well into 2024 after its presentation in the European market.
