On May 13 at around 11:30 p.m., an agent of the Springfield Police Department, Colorado, United Stateswitnessed a scene that deserves its own chapter in The Simpsons and that is that when stopping a driver for traveling at 52 miles per hour in a 30 zone, he witnessed an unorthodox scene.
And it is that while the officer approached the vehicle, the driver tried to switch places with his dog who was in the passenger seat. If this already seems unrealistic, the officer recounts, the man then got out of the passenger side of the car and claimed he wasn’t driving, blaming his dog.
But the story does not end here and it is that the individual who showed clear signs of intoxication, he tried to escape from the policeman after he questioned him about his alcohol use. He was stopped less than 20 meters away from the vehicle.
After some digging, it was discovered that he had two active warrants for his arrest. With this background, the driver was first transferred to the hospital, to later be admitted to the Baca County Jail for his arrest warrants and also accused of: driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, driving with a disability, exceeding the limits speed limits and resisting arrest.
And the dog? Well, luckily the officer specified that he did not face charges and was turned over to an acquaintance of the driver. Obviously, he was warned not to get in trouble again..
